H1541 โ Use of Audioconferencing by Community Associations did not advance. The bill died in the Civil Justice & Claims Subcommittee on March 13, 2026.
The bill would have authorized condominium associations, residential cooperative associations, and homeowners' associations to conduct meetings and elections via audioconferencing, in addition to or instead of videoconferencing. It also proposed requiring condominium associations to maintain audio conference recordings as official records and would have expanded emergency powers provisions to include audioconferencing authority across all three association types.
Since the bill did not become law, current statutory requirements for meetings and elections remain unchanged. Associations should continue to follow existing provisions governing remote participation in their governing documents and applicable Florida statutes.
